Being white in America means that you have something called "white privilege." Saying that, as a "white" person, I am meaning that our race (white Euro-Americans) have never had to assimilate and acculturate. We never had to learn another language to be accepted or try to live like others. All other races that have come to this country have had to assimilate to be like us. It is a really sad concept that even Native Americans are taught about Christopher Columbus in school. Really? First person in America? I hardly think so...what a slap in the face! Even though I am proud of my heritage which consists of primarily English and Irish (who also had to assimilate into the "white culture because they were looked down upon), I feel sad that others had to pay for the privileges that I have today. I have never had to worry about getting a job, or getting into school because of racism. I have never had to deal with microaggressions on a daily basis. How insulting is it if someone asks an Asian-American where they are from when they were actually born here? Think about that!

Does not have any meaning at all ...seeing bigger picture, all consume the same air, walking the same planet and eventually, all be gone..If we placing meaning on colorful diversity, then we observing all bads and goods and that creates pain in the brain, makes our life miserable and definitely do not promise immortality. Remember , we are all humans, pink within...and America is not a God and not of GOD but had been created by, us, by people of many Nations....While creation takes over its creators and begin to dictate what is good and bad then it is time to reconsider our status drop all the meaningless details and begin create again

It means nothing to someone white. I talk to people that are black and they notice race all the time, but as someone white I take it for granted that I am like everyone else. All those that say we are becoming the minority need to really talk to a minority to see what it is like.

For me, it means that life was really tough when I went to inner city public shools. Now it's something I don't think about in my professional life. Probably beause almost everyone else I come into contact with is white. But, I know what it's like to be a minority.

To me, it means taking for granted that I am the status quo. I think if you are white, it is not really something you think about much, or really recognize on a daily basis. It is only something you pay attention to when you see the demographics of our country changing, or when you are the minority, for once. I think most white Americans tend to identify themselves on the basis of other factors, like career, religion, or gender.

The new definition.White America. for the most part we are still paying the decision debts of those who tend to make them on our behalf. if this fits a broad range of color than i have mist the picture. i do see allot of ungratefulness for those who have fought for the freedoms we have. there is jealousy from other nations when they look at what America has accomplished, and it is a bitter one .
