Every baby is different. So there maybe babies that drink 6 ozs of formula at a time, and then there maybe a baby that will drink a 8 oz bottle. But when my son was 5 months old he was drinking about 6 ozs about every 2 to 21/2 hours. But just remember your baby may require more than what my baby requires. My doctor told me that as long as he was getting at least 25 ozs a day then he would be fine and get what he needs. Hope that this helps.

When my daughter was 5 months old, she was drinking about 6 ounces at a tine sometimes a bit less. Iwas feeding her rice cereal and sweetpotatoes as well though, most doctors say to wait until the baby is 6 months old before you give them food, but i think some babies need the bit of food to feel full and satisfied. So I would say a 5 month old should drink about 4-6 ounces every 2-3 hours, but i think it is best to just feed the baby whenever it is hungry, i don't believe in schedules, and if the baby is gaining weight, she is getting enough formula.
