When I go to the mall I'm seeing a lot of cute tops that are short-sleeved, some are kind of kimono style or even tank tops. I live in Michigan so its too cold to wear these things by themselves, what are you supposed to layer under them or what kind of jacket can you wear with all these tops?

I think that what you're seeing in the mall right now are the clothes for spring! Not winter. Winter stuff is going on sale right now so that the stores can start hanging their spring fashions.
My daughter layers just about all of her shirts. She buys really cute, colorful tank tops and wears them under everything. It looks great and gives her more color.
American Eagle has some cute tank tops on sale right now.
I live in Michigan too.

wear a cami under a tightish short or long sleeved top that buttons up or has a pretty low neck. If it buttons, unbutton till u think it's showing enough of your cami. Oh and the shirt should go down till your pocket on your pants.
A jean jacket looks good, or one of those cropped jackets.

under the tanks, you can layer a tight fitting long sleeved top so it doesnt bunch up. and maybe a heavy, cute jacket with a little fake fur lining on the hood.That would be cute

you can wear a shrug or a half jacket which you can find pretty much anywhere and you can wear long sleeve t-shirt under short sleeve shirts layering is really in right now so take advantage of it

Wear a tighter long-sleeved shirt, those tend to work well under shirts like that. Blazers look great over those kinds of shirts. Any kind of sweatshirt would work, but not too baggy!!

Try new technology. Underarmor. They have t-shirts made of 100% synthetics, for summer, or winter. Work amazingly well. Sports Authority sells them, and many web sites.

i live in michigan too! but still no snow=(. you can wear them with shrugs or a cropped jacket.
