Dude dont listen to this first guy i have 6 in my cali house and they dont bother me but you need a cell phone because when you put in 6 dsl modems then your house phone takes a little longer because it has to find an unused channel... but give geeks on call a ring they are free unless they come to your house which u wont need. also think about a wireless adapter thing they just have signal through your house so any computer within 100 feet of the base can use it... it is safe because you have a bunch of things that look like phone lines and they keep hackers out so it is safe

Your DSL service comes over a phone line. Only one modem can be online at a time on that phone#, so there's no point in getting a 2nd modem unless you wanted to order DSL service on a different phone line (and pay a monthly fee for that, too) If you need to share your Internet connection among multiple computers, you just need a router. It connects to your DSL modem, and your computers plug into the router. These days most routers also support wireless connections for laptops.

DSL on phone line? No not a good idea. Because the computer can only request one modem's attention at a time, and if they're from two different providers.. you would be paying more money, and only using one router.

why would U want to do that as long as the purpose of the modem is to decode or I rather say demodulate the signal then is useless 2 have more than one now if you wanna distribute the Internet u better use a switch or a router that u can do

Don't think so. I know I'm only allowed one cable modem. Most ISP like to register only one MAC address to an account. Why would you want two modems anyway?

if you want to have 2 internet connections, get 1 dsl & 1 cable. you can bind them together if you want to get faster speeds using the DLink DI-LB604. if you just want to connect 2 computers together to access the internet, get a wireless router.

We have a Linksys that networks the computers together so that we both can use the wireless connection at the same time. You can buy them at walmart for like $50.00

no. DSL has a decidated line to your CO. Now if you had two phone lines going into your house. maybe.

But, it should be cheaper to just increase your DSL bandwidth.
