I'm not a Trojan hater, this is a serious question. Before PC arrived USC was mediocre. This is a fact.

Let me just remind everyone that from 1980 to 2001 USC had ONE 10 win season and 7 .500 or worse seasons.

I don't think so. They probably won't be as good, as Pete Carroll is one of the best coaches to ever coach in college, but saying that USC will be mediocre is quite a stretch. They will always have a good recruiting class, and they are a perennial contender for the Pac 10 title.

i don't think of Miami is a sturdy in large condition for Carroll. until now the season began i theory there became no way Carroll might go away USC. besides the undeniable fact that, i'm commencing off to ask your self whether he will stay and take the hit from the NCAA sanctions for what seems to be a grimy software (i.e., the Bush Bust and activities brokers on the USC activities complicated). people have forgotten that the study continues to be ongoing. maximum coaches tend to head away whilst the hammer comes down. in line with risk there's a various ecosystem in Southern California the place it form of feels approximately something is going.

Pete Carroll is a King in major college football right now. Why would he leave for the NFL when he had little success there as a head coach?
Besides, his rah-rah attitude is much more suited to college ball than pro ball.

I don't think he will leave, but if he does, it really depends on who they get to fill his shoes. All you need is a pretty good coach/recruiter since USC does a lot on its own to attract players. It has everything going for it (rich tradition, warm weather, media market, hot girls, etc). The only reason it would slide if they bring in an inept coach who can't recruit.

No because they have a killer freshman class coming in. People want to play for USC whether people like it or not. It is a popular school and it will always be a national power.
