I love these loaded questions :-)
From an Italian fan perspective, 1982, for pure excitement.
Italy had not won for so long. It had been disappointed many times. It just scrapped through the group stages (drew all games) and went through to win never having lost a game in the competition.
Brilliant.

Gay....... ummmmm lets seeee ummm Italy Won all those years sooooo??? but i guess i would have to say 1938 because they were socring an average of 4.667 goals per game very very good!!!!!!!! total of 84 goals
