There is someone impersonating me on Yahoo Answers and i was told that there are some law suits going on in the US at this time that involve impersonation on the internet. Is that true and what are the consequences? Can the person go to jail, or is it a civil suit? I am from another country so can you tell me if i would go about charging the person from my country or do i have to contact someone in the US? Thank you for your help.

Sadly, proving that a certain person was doing the impersonation is so complicated that a civil suit would be a waste of time.

That other person can say someone else was using his/her account to do the impersonation, or had access to his/her computer.

I would imagine if there is no money involved or anything of any consequence, then there isn't much you can do.

What kind of damages have they caused?
