Does anyone know how I would go about taking my convalescent leave after I have my baby? I am in the Navy. However, I have TAD orders to another command. Would I route my leave chit through my command, or the command that I have TAD orders to? I am a little confused on how this works. After my 6 weeks I am planning on returning back to my permanate duty station. Any military people know how this works?

Navy vet here. It depends where you'll be at the time. If you'll be at your current command when you're about due, route it through them. If you'll be at your other command, route it through them. If anything, ask your current LPO or LCPO about it.

Good luck!

It all depends where you are at when you have your baby. So if you are at your current command then you would do it through them and if they need to they would let the other command know about it. You get your paper from the doc that says you are starting your convalescent leave and when it will end.

hey girl...Navy wife here...you need to contact your Ombudsman for your current command...they can help you with the logistics. I would contact BOTH commands just so everyone has a heads up. Good luck!
