How would you disable a tracking program on your computer that tracks everything you do on there? It's called pctattletale. If you know anything about it, that would be great! My spysweeper caught it and I think I know what it is, I just need your help. My loved one put it on for me and I hate that somebody's controlling me.

Sorry with your situation but there is a solution. First of all do not download any programs that help you remove items. These programs may remove the problem but they themselves are bad because they can contain malware, spyware, adware and all sorts of other things you dont know about. What I reccomend is buying trusted software from a store. i reccommend (if you dont have it) getting McAfee. Its trusted and it removes viruses and Trojan, and all that stuff. You also cant go wrong with Norton Security. What norton does is tell you when a recent attack has been made on your computer and it has blocked it. It is very usefull especially when you have programs like LimeWire that can potentially make your PC obsolete. Your spyweeper is great, but it cant potentially erase it. The following is in dire emergencies only so do it if you really need to. In an emergency use your boot disk that came with your computer. It will completly erase everything on your hardrive and put it back the way it came. But only use it if you really need to.

For all I know, your "loved one" is a parent, and that'd mean that you're circumventing their attempts to keep you safe.

If it's your boyfriend, and the computer belongs to him, the best solution is to just stop using it entirely. He can't control your usage of the computer if you're not using it at all.

Better yet, ask a friend if you can use their computer. He may have legal recourse to tell you what & what not to do on his, but he's got no say about how other people use theirs.

I think your bigger problem is your loved one's control issues. I'd deal with that before bothering with the computer.

Unless it's your parents who installed PC Tattletale, because it's a parental control program. Then they obviously think you need some monitoring, and who are we to argue?
