When I was 8, I was walking out of my friends house and turned around to wave goodbye.... not looking where I was going combined with my clumsiness ended up quite painfully... I tripped over the door frame at the bottom and then over the step and flew (that's right I have some superhero in me!) about 5ft and ended up face down on gravelly-concrete. Because of the angle that I landed, my bottom teeth went through my top lip and almost completely split it! Zooming to the hospital and a couple of stitches later I was left with a very clear M shaped scar, which my sister (who was 10 at the time) thought would be hilarious to call me McDonalds.... totally traumatic as you can tell! Nowadays the scar is almost completely gone and you can't tell that at one point I nearly lost my lip!
Not really a surprise though.. I was so accident prone as a kid that I had my 'favourite bed' at the local hospital... sad!

Once I got my pony tail caught in a 1/2" drive impact wrench while changing a transmission.
My first job was cutting up meat at a butcher shop and I dropped the huge butcher knife and tried to catch it.Dam near cut my middle fingers off. Learned real fast that when you drop a knife do not try to catch it.
Burning plastic toy solders as a kid a big glob of melted plastic dripped on my hand.
Can't count the number of times I was cutting w/torch or welding than picked a hot piece of steel.
But none of those compare to the time I got my dick caught in my zipper and the zipper wouldn't open.

Well, once I was playing wallball with two friends and I ran to tag the wall but I had socks on and my foot slipped and smashed into the wall, breaking my big toe. I did not know it was broken and the went a did archery afterwards...even though in pain.

#2-i was pumping air into a basketball and the needle from the air pumper shot out of the basketball and "pierced" my eye. i ran out of the house screaming and all i could see was pink. really..i dont know why i even ran out of the house...
#3-i was making an omelette and wearing my pajama's (which consist of low cut pj pants and a sports bra. i decided to take a step forward to flip the egg over and my stomach got too close to the pan. left a dang good burn mark....

Its a choice between practically taking the tip of my finger off with a pair of scissors while trying to put a hole thru a curtain or stapling my finger.

I dropped a piece of steel that weighed around 100 pounds on both of my feet when I was 16. broke both big toes & lost both toenails.
Last year I stabbed myself in the thigh with a utility knife. Four stitches & it was as good as new!

It wasn't anything major, but after pinning on fabric design templates on a boot that was to be customized, I stuck my food in it to see how it would look like when worn. In other words, I voluntarily stuck my bare foot in a boots with needles sticking out on the inside. Yup, that was smart... Luckily, I noticed right away and was able to pull my foot out without getting needles seriously caught on it.

I am a nurse, and while learning how to put IV's in,my hands were shaking so bad that I rammed the needle right through my own hand.We weren't practicing on patients,so no one else was in danger from me thank goodness.

I asked a guy I was working with to toss me a pair of tow cables.
He literally threw them inside the track, on top of my HEAD!!!
It wasn't really SELF inflicted, but it hurt like hell.
I now have a small scar on my forehead.
