its been fine so far, but im worried about gettting a virus outta no where, can i take any at all precautions? OTHER THAN NOT DOWNLOADING IT AT ALL!

Well all the viruses are Trojan and worms and they are easy to get rid of and check the file size if it is under 1mb dont download it

Don't listen to CALI GIRL or babe19, they don't know what they're talking about. LimeWire does NOT install spyware or viruses - they just don't know how to avoid downloading things they shouldn't.
Get AVG Free Anti-Virus, and install it, and download all updates. Every month, I download what I think is a working program through LimeWire. With AVG on my computer, such files are revealed to be carriers for trojans or worms or other malicious programs, and it gives me a prompt (which I hastily follow) to clean the file & move it to AVG's Virus Vault.
I say again - Limewire does not contain any sort of malicious code, nor is it bundled with unnecessary spyware/malware programs (unlike Kazaa, iMesh, or Morpheus). You should simply learn to be careful about what you download when using the program.

I find that one person who loads and shares the songs that you load should ideally be a reputable person who is sharing stay with that person message them if they have what you need know the IP addy thru your system protector it will show up to make note of that. Get winpatrol load it for free.. Take no songs from turks or mideast people as they dotn care much to protect their systems. I had a trojan once from a turk guy they use nothing basic net thats it uk however is ok as they got hackers firewalls all the sh-t to protect them so know who your loading from lime wire the IP addy that is the same person usually has a nice selection /with mcafee the firewall can tace the IP to the place country etc.. the quality to is a key factor to jot down who the iP sharer is as well for good IM them i always have and run the anitvirus run when i do download.just doptn listen to a song and download check out all details which thru lime wire ya can.. ip and im them and supplier

Don't worry about getting a virus from Limewire. music files and video files are safe to download its the software downloads you need to be careful with that could make you get a virus.

I had Limewire removed because it worked well at first and then my computer slowed down a lot. I don't know how you can protect it from a virus but I know it installs this thing called Spyware in your computer.

YES! my Lil brother just did that to us last week are pc wouldnt even go on bc he download a song and when he played the song like 10,000 Pop-up's Just poped up and My pc shut down and we couldnt put it on.. be careful
