Bromine is used to made brominated vegetable oil, which is used as an emulsifier in many citrus-flavored soft drinks.

Iodine is primarily used in medicine, photography and dyes.

Chlorine is a powerful oxidant and is used in bleaching and disinfectants.

A small amount of fluorine is found in drinking tap water to prevent tooth decay.

Yep, the glass is made to shatter into small, square, pieces rather than sharp shards of glass. It will not break any other way. If you throw a brick at it, it will break into small pieces. If you hit it with a hammer, small pieces, if you try drilling a hole in it, small pieces... See where I'm going with this?? Safety glass comes in two forms. One piece as its in the car. And tiny pieces. The windshield is similar, but is laminated so it will shatter but the pieces will stay together.
