The disc isn't spinning. Has this happened to anyone else, and do you know if it's a fixable problem?
BTW-- it's newer "slim" ps2, about 3 years old.

They fix it for free because its a known issue

I'm sorry to say it's probably shot. You may have a gamers store around that can take a look at it, but the service time would probably be just as much as it would be to buy a new one or just get one off of ebay. They're cheap there.

yes it happened to me and what happened was that the laser inside the ps2 is not doing so go so i had to buy an replacement.
try replacement on the laser

you have brokren something in the ps2 which prevents the disk frm spinning.i think so you must get sme1 2 repair this.it doesnt cost much

yep.. the same thing that happend 2 me. it must've fell and the rotator in the inside is loose, u can ship it 2 Sony's factory and they can fix it for ya!

i droped my ps2 plenty of times plastic thing to put the disc fell out and i glued it back and it works perfectly fine.i had for avout 4 years ago i dont know wat the problem is

same thing happened with mine i traded it in. it probbly the overall software is old. traded it in now and get 50 bucks
