Try the Jennifer Scales series by Anthony Alongi and MaryJanice Davidson. There are two so far with more to come. The first one is Jennifer Scales and the Ancient Furnace, and the second is Jennifer Scales and the Messenger of Light. Jennifer is a teen age girl who finds that she is a weredragon. Very good read.

The Abhorsen Trilogy with the aid of Garth Nix has female substantial characters - Sabriel (sabriel), Lirael (lirael) and Abhorsen (lirael.) and likely, i like them. Anne McCaffrey as lots of human beings have written - notwithstanding The Dragonsong trilogy with Menolly (Dragonsong, Dragonsinger, Dragondrums) are her basically books formally for youthful adults. an incredible e book that only have been given reprinted is "Enchantress from the celebs" with the aid of Sylvia Engdahl. it incredibly is the main sci-fi of the bunch (spaceships, a superstar trek like first touch, and so on.) the different ones stated tend greater in the direction of delusion (looks the greater female-friendly area of the style) notwithstanding they might all be seen sci-fi in a feeling and all have sci-fi factors.

"Have Space Suit, Will Travel" by Robert Heinlein. Its a fun read. I'm amazed that no one has ever optioned it as a movie script. It would be easy to do well if followed accurately.
