I am not understanding your question. Do you mean he punishes you through your girls? If so, how does he do that? You didn't provide enough information to allow us to give you advise.

get rid of the @sshole. what do you mean he punishes you? is he your husband or your dad? he doesn't have the right to punish you in any way, shape or form. the first time he turned his anger on my children would have been the last for him. it makes me very angry to see a man treat a woman this way. especially in this day and age.
my experience is this.: my mom let my dad "punish" her for years. it ranged from cussing, hitting, punching, shooting at her,and even the same things for us kids too. we lived with the abuse on a daily basis.
So when I see women today being treated this way. I speak up!
nothing will change until YOU change it. There are too many support groups, domestic violence shelters and for your kids child protective services. DO SOMETHING NOW TO CHANGE YOU SITUATION, BEFORE HE ENDS UP HURTING(OR KILLING) YOU OR ONE OF YOUR CHILDREN.

obviously you have done something wronh to be punished for. All you can do is be the best you can be to your girls and they will see who's right and who's wrong. My parents were nasty to each other even after they had been divorced for twenty years, i still saw through them, so you do your best, and they will see through the lies....

you are afraid of him because he punishes you through your girls?

what kind of punishment could he possibly devise that would make you afraid of him

the only thing i could think of that would fit that scenario is if he constantly brainwashed them to try to kill you or something like that
