I don't know what kind of celebrity status applies here...but I cried when Steve Irwin died...I hated the thoughts of someone so unique ,young and full of life being gone from this world.....

I have also cried when people I never knew died...on 911 I didn't cry for a building ...I cried for all the people lost and those who lost someone...I cried when those miners were found dead after the family was told they were alive.....

I don't know if its right on wrong to morn for "celebrities " or people you never knew...but sometimes I do.........

As human-being with a heart we all get emotional at different times, no one can tell me otherwise. You might not know the celebrity personally but if you grew up with his music or watching him at the movies, how can you not feel something when the person dies. Some of us never cry at any funeral, tears don't come easy, but ask anyone and they will tell you how emotional they got. I cried when Elvis and John Lennon died. I did not know either of them personally but I loved their music, and their sudden deaths touched my heart. I grew up with their music, it was a piece of my youth. I guess I cried for them and for myself and my youth that like them has gone away forever. Their music still brings me so many memories, haunts me of a time I was young, and I met my husband and we were so happy in love... Even though we are still in love today, yesterday will never come back. The death of the Celebrity just confirms it. How could I not cry.

I think it depends on the celebrity. James Brown was around for a long time. There are so many people that have memories from his songs, I think I can understand a little emotion for him.

I think it depends on why you are crying... I don´t cry over Celebrities.. I never did, but I was thinking the other day.. When Julie Andrews dies, I am going to cry.. She was part of my whole childhood as Maria and Mary Poppins.. I think it´s just an emotional thing.. To think that person is not living anymore.. it´s human to cry over someone´s death.

I don't think there is anything wrong about crying over a celebrity sure he didn't know his fans personally, but the fans know him for changing their lives with his music, a fan reads about the celebrity listens or watches their movies and when they die they feel they have lost someone their actually knew...

There is nothing wrong about crying over someone dying...IT JUST SHOWS YOU HAVE A HEART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes I think it's stupid. Most of them never even knew or met the celebrity, and they're all freaking out and stuff. It reminds me of over here in the Middle East, where they hire "professional mourners" at funerals.

Its sad, just because you dont know the celebrity personally doesnt mean they didnt touch your heart somehow. Take Elvis for example, when he died SOOO many people cried. They grew up to his music or was their first crush. These celebrities mean something to these people even if they lived millions miles away.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if my grandma cried because she went to a lot of his concerts and was a big fan of him but you should only cry if it really hurts.

It's a bit much but they probably get caught up in emotion and are showing their appreciation for the performer.
