There is no way to tell whether you are having twins until you see them on an ultrasound or give birth.

The only type of twins that are hereditary is if YOU (not your partner) have a history of fraternal twins. Identical twins are not hereditary, they are just a freak thing that happens in nature when one fertilized egg splits into two. Fraternal twins are the result of two separate eggs being release by the mother and both of those eggs are fertilized my different sperm.

So, in summary, it's possible for any woman to have twins (about 1 in 90 without any medical interventions), but you will not be able to tell until you have an ultrasound.

My wife for 3 years was also physically and psychologically abusive at me as well and I have to admit I was dumb that I stayed for that long. Although good things happen to people with a good heart. We too are a young couple and all I have to say is its either you seek some sort of counseling so that he could change his ways but if not.... please do the right thing. Don't let an abusive relationship destroy your dignity and preserve your self respect. I made a mistake of putting those on the line because I was hopeful that things would change for the better. Don't get me wrong, there is still hope for both of you. Just don't let it get out of hand when things happen in that way. Sometimes we as men tend to act up like complete morons and would start cussing like we are real tough against our wives. I am not saying it's right, you just have to work around his anger and let time calm things down and if that never changes after all the counseling or the ultimatum then worst comes to worse you might just have to leave him. Take care. Good luck to you.
