You can figure it out by assigning the grade points, then averaging.
A=4; B=3; C=2, etc, then divide by the number of courses (or credit hours if yours is broken down that way).
A-, I assume, could be considered a 3.7 or 3.8.

For weighted GPA the AP classes are 5=A, 4=B, ect...
for honors I know an A=4.5, but I believe the .5 changes when lower than an A...
regular or unweighted GPA is 4=A, 3=B, 2=C, 1=D
to find your GPA, find the mean of all your individual class grades.
Hope this isn't too much info.

A => Grade Point (GP) = 4.0
A- => GP = 3.7
B+ => GP = 3.3
B => GP =3.0
C+ => GP = 2.7
and so on.
Here is how to calculate your GPA (Grade Point Average):
GPA = Total GP / Total Units
Example:
you got an A in English 101 (3 units)
an A- in Math 285 (5 units)
and B+ in Physics 101 (4 units)
GP for English 101 = 4.0 (A) * 3 (3 units) = 12 pts
GP for Math 285 = 3.7 (A-) * 5 (5 units) = 18.5 pts
GP for Physics 101 = 3.3 (B+) * 4 (4 units) = 13.2 pts
Total GP = 12+18.5+13.2 = 43.7 pts
Total Units = 3+5+4 = 12 units
Your GPA = Total GP / Total Units = 43.7/12 = 3.642
If you are A- average student, your GPA should be 3.700(A-)
Good Luck!

You have an A- as an average in college, but you don't know how to do a simple average calculation?
I weep for the future.
Add the total number of points for all of your grades together and divide by the number of classes scored.
Stay in school and learn something, please.

Add your grades together:
A=4
B=3
C=2
D=1
F=0
then divide by the number of grades you got. Your answer will be your GPA

A- is considered to be 3.7 according to Wikipedia. So, you have a 3.7 average. That's super -- you're doing great!
