What is the slope-intercept (the y= mx + b form) for the line that passes through (0,-3) and (6,0)? I think the slope is 1/2, but I am not sure what the rest of the equation is.

slope = (change in y)/(change in x)>>(0--3)/(6-0)=.5
now use the point slope form to get:
y-0= .5(x-6)
y=.5x-3
that should be the answer.

y=mx+b

-3=(1/2)0+-3

See, it's kinda easy after you get the hang of it. The slope is m, plug in y and x into their righful places and TA-DAH

y=mx+b
which is then
-3=(1/2)0+-3

its actually not that bad just takes lots of practice.
m=slope
x- just there
b=y inercept
