ooh, this happened on (american) thanksgiving break. I drove up to Vancouver BC (canada) from Seattle. Only about 3 hrs each way. Great time up there, but it started snowing on Sunday. I had to be at work Monday. hahaha...
I get to the border crossing and stop. And stay completely stopped as the snow is dumping for two hours. People are turning off their cars and walking up to the border questioning booth things to see why the heck we were stopped. Large truck accident.
(I'll mention at this point that there are a lot of cars sliding off the road because of the 4-inch/8ish-cm layer of ICE on the road under the snow)
So, after a brisk 3 hours, I finally get through onto the solid bumpy ice on the other side and commence (at 10 mph/20ish kmh) to try to drive home with no chains and no snow/ice driving experience. 4-wheel-drive cars are sliding sideways off the road at this speed. I was fishtailing. Well, my car was.
So, once I get to Bellingham, less than half-way, there's about twice as much ice and about 1.5 feet of snow (half metre). Nice. My mom freaked out and booked the only motel in town with any vacancy... the (ominous music) Travel House Inn. Scary.
Next morning, I called in to work, then called around to see if any buses, taxis, planes, rickshaws were in service. None. Called around for chains. Found some. The only problem was getting to the place, having plowed my car into a snow bank to park in the lot. It iced itself nicely to the pavement, too.
So, I walked two miles (4km, i think) round trip, in the f-ing snow and ice with a couple other stranded girls to get the nice and heavy chains for my car. Chained up, froze my fingers (not literally), and headed out.
The rest is passionately boring, so I'll summarize: chain, de-chain, chain, mudmudmud, dechain, ice, snow, chain up...
So I learned some valuable stuff that trip: how to chain up a car, how to drive in snow and ice, and that Bellingham is a horrible place to get stranded (no offense, guys, but it was).

perfect holiday: Nantucket each summer with my loves! it truly is spectacular! My friends are there and we've the time of our lives, i'm getting so emotional even as i imagine that i might want to in no way be able to bypass lower back. i can't even stress how a lot i appreciate that position! Worst holiday: nicely there extremely isn't a such component as a worst holiday because it truly is day off to do something interesting! The least interesting holiday change into even as i change into 8 and the yankee female position wasn't equipped in NYC yet so I flew to Chicago for an afternoon with some friends. i am going to Palm coastline, FL for 2 weeks with a bunch of friends and that must be remarkable! I used to bypass there each of the time, yet then we merely stopped. God, i appreciate that position a lot =] -Catherine

When my mom and I went to the Jersey shore and stayed in a motel right on the boardwalk. The constant loud noise at night on the boards was so irritating, I literally couldn't wait until we left on Sunday morning.

When my family went to the Bad Lands and my dad was constipated and my brother had the chicken pox. All in all, it was a fun trip if you forget about the grunting and itching.
