You know at first i was glad.. Then as I thought more about it and how things got uglier afterwords I realized putting him to death was not such a good idea. It made him a marter to many..
I think spending the rest of his life in a small cell with no contact with other people would of been a better sentence...
Whoever said that his hanging kept many people from dying, I would like to know HOW? He has not been in power in quite some time, and the killings are worse than when he was in power.
Don't get me wrong, I am NOT standing up for the sadistic SOB, but I think making someone suffer the rest of their life is a better punishment.

I'm not interested in the execution of Saddam, only the execution of his thousands of victims. He can no longer harm anyone on earth and how he fares now is up to God. Saddam is gone from this planet and should be gone from our thoughts. He is not worth it.

All it did was give Bush Jr a some more charges in World Court. The Hague, Netherlands. International Law. Cannot arrest nor detain a countries leader while in office.
Saddam only court he can appear in legally is World Court. Hague, Netherlands. Otherwise, it is a mistrial and illegal.

Saddam should have rotted in a dungeon somewhere for his crimes against humanity, until he was forgotten about then executed in whichever way he desired. might as well let him choose.
but since they killed him while he has followers, his philosophy will probably gain strength and followers rather than lose them.
It usually happens that a person's message is stronger in death than it is in life.
if you don't believe me, point out one infamous person who was forgotten about after being executed.

I am against the execution for one reason. It was too quick. He should have been made to endure a slow and painful death with tremendous suffering like he inflicted on so many others.

Saddam could not do anything because the evidence was strong and he was rightfully meted the proper penalty.

after he killed all his own people, basically for the fun of it?
you really think being bored in a jail cell is fair judgment for years of torture and death?
