I like Obama, and I agree with you that he is being pushed to be the Democratic nomination. I think that he will be on the Nov. ballot with either Hillary Clinton or John Edwards. If John McCain or Rudy Guilliani wins the Republican nomination, then I think they will win the 2008 presidential election and Obama will 2012.

Obama is well liked because he does a good job of connecting with the average American man/woman. He is also somewhat of a literary celebrity because of the books he has written.

My opinion is that there are two groups that will immensely affect Obama's chances of becoming a president. On the one hand, you have a large number of media personalities and ultra liberals that are enamored with the idea of America having its first black president. This group has helped him in gaining a fair share of time on television and other communication channels throughout the country. The second group consists of the large number of Americans that are uncomfortable or even hostile towards the idea of a black man becoming their leader. The first group is much more vocal in their views right now, but the currently silent and much larger second group will make their opinions heard during voting hours.

If Obama is to have a chance, he will have to persuade the large number of Americans that do not belong to either camp. I am talking about the citizens of this nation that want a capable president no matter his/her skin color. He hasn't yet brought forth a clear game plan for his presidency and what we are to expect from him.

John McCain President a Moderate Conservative with several liberal viewpoints as does Rudy Juliani for Vice. They would make a remarkable team that could make both sides of the house happy. America could get busy being the strongest country in the world and it would show unity between the parties.
Not only the terrorist but the world would once again shake in their boots as they did post 9/11

Media Hype. He doesn't have a chance, not to mention NO experience AT ALL. He's just a feel good black face in politics.

I would like to see Gore run again. He won the popular election in 2000 and practically had the election stolen from him by the Supreme Court.

Plus he has TONS of experience having worked under one of the best Presidents we've EVER had - Bill Clinton - for 8 years!!

If anyone truly deserves the Presidency it's him.

I don't like him, and just because The Chicago Tribune likes him or Oprah, it doesn't means he is gonna win.

Sure, he is being pushed, but as of right now he will never beat McCain.

McCain will be the next pres, unless he does something stupid...too many liberals love him, and conservatives have no other choice.

As for Obama, he is too much on the fringe to get elected president right now. A centrist will win the next election.

I like Obama but he hasn't had any executive experience. But I am waiting to see what the Democrats have available that can beat the Republicans. I sure don't want Jeb Bush! And I used to like McCain anymore since he backed down on Bush torturing suspects and violating the Geneva Convention.

The simple fact, is that, if he is nominated, the Left, will look for another candidate, may be someone like Nader, who isn't so keen on the issue of "surgical strikes against Iran" and so forth.

I don't like him. And it has nothing to do with racism or anything, it has to do with my politics. I don't like anyone, who speaks so fondly of religion in a civic sphere, religion needs to be as far away from Politics as possible! Or someone, who sees the world as Ronald Reagan saw it in the 1980's...Just can't sacrifice my principles

I do believe he will run..I don't know of him well enough to say whether I like or dislike him yet... Just because Ms Oprah likes him does not mean he will run for prez..

He's a media darling, and in the U.S. that's tantamount to qualifications.

It's too early to tell.

Does he want to run? yes. Would he win? there's Hillary "The Plan" Clinton in the primaries, and if he makes it past her he will have to contend with whatever easy-to-swallow, middle-of-the-road candidate the GOP manages to scrounge up.
