Im a single mother of two children, I am tired of bartending and always being gone. Ive been in the hobby of making incense for quite some time, Ive got fantastic fragrances. I would like to open a small shop in the mall, but I need a few more things to get it open. I need to know how a low income single mother can go about getting $2000, does anyone know of any grants or lenders who would lend in my situation? Any help would be appreciated.

Also, If your interested in some incense email me..lol..Ill send you a fragrance list and some samples.

Thanks,
Rah

Rhonda, the Small Business Administration would help you out. Just go to http://sba.gov/ to read more information about it. I hope this should be more than sufficient for you. Good luck on your business.

Hi Rah,

It's great that you're deciding to do something new! Of course, it's never too late to start. The government and banks are very open to helping businesses out in our modern economy. The only true requirements are a business plan and a decent credit score. There's plenty of software and websites out there (search google) dedicated to making business plans for all sorts of businesses. If you just spend one day making one and present it to the bank, they'll likely say yes and give you the money you're seeking.

Best of luck!

My suggestion is to get your business plan. Then go out to the Business Women's networking events...and pitch there...sometimes they do have money to help out women in business.

I know there are tons of these organizations in L.A. I don't know about other areas.

But get your business plan because no one wants to hear you pitch for free money if you don't even know your plan and your competition.
