Women dress for mood most of the time. It depends on how I feel, where I am going, and what I am doing. So...for each of those variables I need to have choices. And it just makes us happy. Women don't really dress for men, they dress for other women and themselves.

I am a woman. I own only 2-3 pairs of shoes (one pair of tennis shoes, one pair of sandals, and one pair of everyday shoes for the summer). As for the clothes, I have a few pants for winter, a few for the rest of the year, and a few tops for each. I know I don't own near as much as many women do. Women, typically, own so much because they want (or think they need) a pair of shoes to go with every outfit, they need an outfit or several outfits for every ocassion, etc. And they also want things that go with their purses, or vice versa. I am not that way. I get what I like and keep it pared down.
Now, my fiance on the other hand, is different. He has 2 pairs of boots, 3 pairs of shoes, and enough clothes (work clothes, that is) to last him for at least 1 1/2 months! That doesn't count the nice t-shirts and plaid shirts and other shirts/sweatshirts he has. I only have 4 coats (pretty much one for each season); he has a closet full!!
So, if you take a look at the difference between me and my fiance, you could say that he is the one doing the 'style thing', not me. lol So, it is not always the women that have so many pairs of shoes and so much clothes. There are men out there like that too. And there are other women out there that are like me and don't have near as much clothes and shoes as others. I believe some of it has to do with how much money they have or make and what job they do, and some of it has to do with some insecurities or beliefs that they were raised with.
If all of the women you know have tons of pairs of shoes and tons of clothes, then you are hanging out with the wrong women. If you don't like them having so many clothes and shoes, then hang out with another type of woman that doesn't have so many of them, or just get used to it.

Women have to own so many pairs of shoes so that they have something to match every single one of their many articles of clothing. Why do they have so many articles of clothing? Because we women simply can never decide what to wear and need to try on a thousand different outfits before picking one. And we need to have such a large amount of clothing so that we can do this. Most women enjoy shopping and buying a new something on sale and at a great price. Its a pick me up. Having so many clothes helps to have something to match a woman's every mood and the perfect outfit with the perfect pair of shoes can make a woman's day.

I wish I knew because I would have alot more space in the bedroom.I actually have to keep my clothes in our spare room!!! And even though she only wears about a third(if that) of her clothes and even less of her shoes, she will not get rid of them.

Because of the thrill of shopping. We get a certain jolt of complete loveliness when you find that perfect pair of shoes to go with that completely perfect skirt/shirt/jacket/dress/shorts/jeans/whatever-else that we just bought. It thrills us. So when one of our gal pals calls up and askes us to go shopping you get all these ideas about what perfect thing you can get.
Also because when you shop you tend to gossip plus all those on sale items..
What can I say, it was just meant to be.

It's important NOT to be seen in the same outfit twice at certain events. And you need shoes that match bags, belts and other accessories.

Because we love looking good. If we try it on and it looks good, we have to buy it before it sell out or the sale ends. Otherwise we will get bored with the same old look. It's our nature. Smile!

Why do guys wear the same crappy sweatshirts for three years and insist on keeping old worn out jeans until their wife throws them away? Answer that!

I don't own much...I like to go barefoot and all year round I love to wear shorts and t shirts or tank tops, big sweatpants for outside. It seems to work well enough for me. Lingerie is my weakness...My one big fetish, I have never met a man who had a problem with that♥
