I think you can start out with where the f*ck you going to get a job? Most employers have drug testing to protect the employees and the business owner. They also get a rate reduction in their insurance premiums. This will not change.
There will always be a black market because the government will regulate the THC content.
There will be more law enforcement for dui's because, it pays more than busting you for your dime bag.
If they legalize your choice of drug, which one gets legalized next?
Drug dealers will just push harder drugs to make money, and will become more violent to avoid jail.
How many people that are in jail for drug possession are actualy in for dime bags of weed?

For those that say it would be more money for the government. No thanks, I have seen what they have done with lottery money. They don't need any more money, they need to quit spending what they are given!

The government can't regulate THC....sure is funny how they regulate tobacco and alcohol. Who said if they legalize it, it would be legal to grow?

it will never be legalized because its to easy to grow. if you grow your own instead of buying, the gov. could'nt tax it. therefore it will never be legal.

Save a lot of money on incarcerating those who are in jail only because of marijuana. Provide legal jobs to those who are already familiar with the substance. Save those who use it medicinally from being prosecuted. Also, when something is no longer forbidden, it becomes less desirable. (for example, other countries having a lower legal drinking age and less problems with alcohol)
Oh WAIT!! Those are all positives!!
Marijuana is no more dangerous than cigarettes. In fact, a lot of people believe it to be less harmful. Also, how many marijuana-related deaths do you know of? (i.e. car accidents, etc.) Very few, if any, especially in comparison to alcohol.

Who says people can't start their own businesses? Legal cannabis automatically creates the need for growers, packagers, wholesalers and retailers.
Government can't regulate THC content, especially when people can grow their own. There'd be no need to regulate it anyways. The black market in cannabis will fade.
Well, good. I like the idea that DUI laws will be enforced. I don't want intoxicated drivers on the road, period.
Cannabis isn't comparable to cocaine, heroin, LSD, or other hard drugs. It's referred to as a "soft drug" for a reason. If We the People want to legalize more drugs, and pass laws to do so, then who am I to stand in the People's way?
You're pulling the "drug dealers...avoid jail" out of your one-way digestive tract. Please, either cite your proof, or don't bother posting lies.
Kitty: please, link me to a source on this "marajuana district" business. You seem to be like the asker on this one, pulling "facts" out of your one-way digestive tract.

If pot was legal there would be a great loss of government jobs. People that live off of the taxpayers money would have to learn to work for a living. Some people would stop drinking and driving that could cause a list of problems.Good people could find jobs.

since your question only illustrates one side of the argument, i will elaborate on the other one.
If marijuana was legal, the government would produce and regulate it, as well as tax it. this would mean many new jobs for people.
it is estimated that 25% of people in jail are in jail for drug crimes, and that it costs taxpayers an average of 85 dollars per prisoner per day of incarceration. if we were to take out the marijuana prisoners alone, that would be hundreds of thousands of dollars that could be used elsewhere. In addition, the money that is used for seeking out and arresting marijuana users would be saved as well. And of course the tax that would come in would create a huge revenue.
If these funds were available, the money could be spent on education and rehabilitation program, perhaps for people who are afraid to get help because they know they have been breaking the law.
Are you familiar with the prohibition movement of the 1920s? what was intended to rid the US of alchohol inadvertently gave rise to organized crime. the same thing has happened with marijuana as well as other drugs.
there is sooo much more to this. anyone who is interested can email me via my info page for more information and sources on decriminalization of marijuana among other things.

Glad you made this thread. First of, go to Amsterdam and you will find out.
1. High murder rates in Marijuana Districts.
2. More muggings.
3. Violent Crime Rates jump 30% higher than non marijuana ditricts.
4. Roberies and break-ins.
5. More law enforcement needed to stop violent crimes.
6. More tax revenue is spent fighting crime in marijuana districts.
7. No one is even bothered to work in the marijauna districts since they are too stoned to work.
8. More whore houses open and all whores want is more weed. Not money.
9. More cops get killed in Marijauna Districtys than any district.
10. Marijuana is a plant that needs to be eliminated off this planet. Since nobody will be bothered to work anymore and wnat to beg on the streets and threaten people for money to buy more.
There are no pros, just negatives just more tax money being collected to hire more law enforcement officers since everyone is stoned and not making money.

Thank you eatmore, well said. I too am very curious where kitty gets these "facts".
I've smoked nearly daily for over 30 years and am quite successful, (we should compare incomes) too bad I've lost all my ambition and just lay around.
Hey nonalcoholic, I bet if you took a puff you'd be more open minded and not slap a thumbs down on all opposing opinions after you ask for opinions.
What a joke.
