To answer your question, I can quote a very knowledgeable sage: "STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES."

Smoking ANY plant is potentially harmful to your lungs and heart. Cannabis does not posses physically addictive compounds like nicotine in significant amounts. It doesn't take much nicotine to overdose and kill a person. In fact, the nicotine in a single cigar, if injected all at once, would kill most people. Likewise, too many nicotine patches will kill a person. Interestingly, with an estimated 40 million cannabis users in the U.S. each year, there has never been a single death attributed directly to cannabis use. A few years ago there was a $10,000 reward for anyone that could find such a study. Cannabis kills no one, but we know for certain that tobacco has caused much death and disease. But without a doubt, the vaporization of cannabis is far safer than smoking it, and there is a string movement in the cannabis community to reduce the harm associated with cannabis. The good news is that legalization would lead to an even safer cannabis plant. Tobacco was bred by corporations to maximize flavor and nicotine content in order to ensure continued sales. Current cannabis breeding tends to focus on flavor, odor and potency. Of legalized, this would permit research and increased breeding that would seek to minimize any harmful components. Unfortunately, with cannabis being illegal, the research is highly restricted and this keeps safety improvements from being made.

While I can take on board the previous comments, and be aware I don't do gear of any type any more, but load a spliff purely with good skunk (northern lights, white widow or something) thats a 3 skinner - share with a friend, put on a good cd - and its like acid without the nasty visuals. Not good for all the time, but man that used to be good!

because the weed we have over here is stronger than what the americans have. if they came here they would have to mix it or they would be whiteyd out in the corner somewhere.

also, if you just want a gentle smoke to get a bit of a buzz, just add a small amount of weed to tobacco. if u want to get mashed, put loads of weed with a little bit of tobacco

(this post is for information only - dont do drugs)

like u said it helps the skunk burn, coz if u get some, sometimes it may well be still moist. so the tobacco is used as a kind of mainstay to keep it going thru the harsh times!!

Well, you might not want to burn all your weed in one spliff and temporarily lose the ability to see/speak/stand-up etc. Best to make a nice big one with just a bit of weed in it, get nicely smiley, have a brew and a butty then have another spliff later. And it makes it burn better.

It's an old European tradition. Only Americans smoke their grass straight.

Oh, and you can't smoke hash straight. Laws of physics.
