There is a federal wage and sometimes individual states supercede that and have a higher amount as a minimum wage. The most progressive communities have what is called a living wage minimum, but not very many.

I just looked it up at www.dol.gov/esa/minwage/america.htm. It says that in Oregon, the minimum wage is $7.80 an hour. It depends on what state you live in, among other things, as to what your minimum wage is. Look on this site and find out what it is in your state, or someone else's.

$6.85 but its supposed to go up each January based on inflation. This is a new law. Previous to 01/01/07 it was $5.15. (many local businesses are freaking out!!!!). Colorado
