do you think the aussie management and captain will allow warne and mcgrath to open the second innings ?

they had 2 full days and 10wickets in hand to play.. even if warne and mcgrath had been out first two balls, the so called real batsmen could have gotten the paltry 46 runs easily.. moreover warne was the best batsman in the 1st session..

by not letting them open and leading the team (which had run on to the field to celebrate) back to the pavillion, the management have proved what an incable bunch they are !

perhaps by allowing them, the match would have even a bigger marketing value for the future..

cheers mates and a goodai..

No. Australia opened their second innings with Langer and Hyden and they scored 46 runs for no loss and won the match short while ago.

I dont see why...they are famous bowlers, not batsmen. No one would allow great batsmen who are retiring to open the bowling!

And wouldn't it be very unfair to Justin Langer who's also retiring and has always opened the batting?

unfortunately not and McGrath will have to retire with the most Australian test ducks to his name.

It would be nice as they are retiring but I don't think the selectors will let them
