Our daughter is coming to the United States and we do not know when she will return to PI, so we need a one way ticket from Manila to the US and then to Reno, Nevada. We fly Philippine Airlines but they said they don't have tickets originating in Manila

Philippine Airlines has flight from Manila to San Francisco, this will be your daughter's port of entry. She will have to get all her luggage and go through the customs and immigration there. Once she completed these, she will then have to get her connection flight to Reno. United has flights to Reno on a daily schedule. For your daughter's sake (Im not sure how old she is) one of your relative can drive to San Francisco to pick her up. This will also save the confusion of transfering from International airport to local airport plus the confusion of transferring from Philippine Airlines Terminal to United Terminal or any other airline you might choose.
Goodluck and God Bless

I don't know that anyone can come to the US on a one way ticket unless they are an American citizen. I am Canadian and fly to the Philippines every year and I must have a rerurn ticket. Granted I am able to freely change the return date but still must pay up front when I make the reservation. The limitation on my visit is one year unless I have proper visa documention! I am almost certain your daughter cannot stay in the US beyond one year in any event!
Philippine Airlines is not telling you the truth. I flew one way in 2005 with my wife from Manila to Vancouver!

I would have said PAL aswell. But if that's your situation then try Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and China Airlines. Ofourse they probably won't be direct from Manila to SF, but they they all have routes with both cities. From SF to Reno, try something like Southwest for cheapest. Since that's after the big journey, good luck :) Oh yea, also try NWA "Northwest Airlines". Japan or China Airlines will probably be the cheapest. Cathay might be the last resort.

they do have flights from manila to san franciso. is your daughter an immigrant? or jiust a tourist? if tourist, you are required by us immigration to have a return ticket. you can have the return date open. without return ticket, they will give you a hard time. sometimes they only give one week stay to those who doesn't have return tickets.
