I haven't been to the doctor since the 22nd of december when I was 14 weeks along. She wants to see me every two weeks so I called to make a doctors appointment and the soonest they can get me in is January 17th. I will be almost 18 weeks by then. Is this ok? The baby apparently is healthy the heartbeat was fine, but I haven't gained any weight yet. I'm just wondering if its safe to go this long or not. This is my frist baby.

I am pregnant with my first baby too. I am 12 weeks and my doctor only wants to see me once a month until 36 weeks. If everything is healthy I wouldn't worry about it

The office knows your dates and how far along you are. As long as you aren't having any problems, spotting, bleeding, cramping, you should be ok. Next time, try to schedule your next appt at your appt. That way the slots won't all fill up on you. Especially around the holidays when doctor's offices are closed due to the holidays it will be harder to make last minute appointments. And if the doctor was on call for a hospital ER, forget it. They will get slammed the first week or so back.

It is odd for a doctor to want you in every 2 weeks this early in pregnancy. But, even then - If that's what your doctor is wanting, make each of your appointments in advance. When you're there on January 17th, make your next appointment. That way you have a better chance of getting in when the doctor wants you there.

Im sure this will be fine otherwise the doctors would of got you in sooner. you will be in time for your 20 week scan, thats the main thing. as long as baby is healthy and strong Im sure you will be ok. Just try keep it to two weeks from your next appointment. Good luck

I would think it's fine, most doctors only want to see you once a month until around the 32 week when it then goes to 2x a month. If everything is going well and no complications I don;t see why it wouldn't be ok. I'm 27 weeks and only have seen my doc. once a month the whole time.

if you are really worried about it call and talk to the Dr themselves. But most the time it is not that big of a deal especially if the baby is ok. But talk to the Dr about it and see what they say. They may fit you in between ppl. Hope that helped

When I was 15 weeks I had my first appt. then had one every month there after, but if she wants to is you every two weeks I would call back and ask to talk to her or the nurse and explain the situition and find out if it is okay. Really they should have made an appt at your last appt or you should have called sooner.

Why does she want to see you every 2 weeks? Normally it`s every 4 weeks until 32 weeks.. It should be okay though.

Its fine i thought most people went every 4 weeks, thats how it is for me. and i havent gained any weight yet and im at 19 weeks, my doc said it was fine tho.

I would call back and leave a message for the R.N. (not the receptionist). Once you get to the R.N., explain the situation, and try to get another appointment earlier.
