This might sound cheesy, but the music itself is what gave me a rise. That, and Mozart's laugh. I must say that F. Murray Abraham did give a great performance as Salieri, though. It's a shame that he kind of faded away into obscurity after this movie. The only thing that I have seen recently with him was a Buddhist documentary on world peace. He was the narrator.

I loved Salieri too. But, I think I had to give it to Mozart for being so damned outrageous. He was amazingly talented. Know anyone else's music that's still being played today? That would be a no. Zaentz took creative license to portray Salieri as being driven mentally insane by Mozart's talent, but it was what made for a phenomenal movie.

The mother in law. I give the director full marks for restraint in showing Constanza's mother as a lovable scatterbrain and inspiration as the character of Night Queen in Mozart's opera The Magic Flute.

I loved Salieri - what a nightmare to know that this vulgar little man is superior to you in your one true passion and has a god given gift while you are competent at best.

The actor who played "The Maestro". I can't remember his name. No matter what he did,Mozart was ready to do one better.
