Absolutely it is a piece of S... I am always telling people to NOT get an iPod and to instead get a simple MP3 player, if possible get one that has expandable memory using SD cards. My son has an RCA Lyra that also takes SD cards. As for me, I use my Treo 650 as my Game Boy, MP3 player, notebook, calendar, portal to the Internet when I'm on the go, email, camera, video camera, media storage.... Oh yeah and I use it as a phone sometimes.

I absolutely love my iPod. I resisted for so long because I felt that Apple was taking over. Now that I have an iPod, gotten some stuff off iTunes, and figured out how to really work the thing, I'm in heaven. I take my entire music collection with me everywhere I go.

Yeah, there are arguments for getting a regular mp3 player (san disk, zune, etc.) but I'm an iPod freak now.

the ease of use, compatibility, intuitiveness, and practicality makes the iPod a truly great product. I tried regular mp3 players and phones, but they do not even come close to the capability of an iPod. I suggest you go for the great product instead of waste your time with others - now, that is truly the "waste of money" you were talking about.

You should definately stick to your ipod and not to any other mp3 player like the zune because you wont get as much as good quality as the one that you get from an ipod. My friend just told me yesterday that he bought a zune and that it is a piece of crap because he bought it a month ago and it doesnt work anymore. Hope this works. Also, remember that you cant compare the amazing quality of an apple product vs. the cheap copies of products that the microsoft does, a good example is the zune.

well, i think that ipods were so overrated, but i just said that because i couldn't get one at the tiem, lol. now that i have one, proud owner for two weeks, :) i think it's great! you can access music from the itunes websites, ituens.com. they cost money, a dollar a song, but it's worth it. if you don't want to pay for music, you can add songs from a cd that you have onto your ipods. jsut google how to use an ipod, i'm sure it's veyr self-explainitory. limewire, si also a good site to download free music, and it doesnt give your computer any viruses or makes it run any slower, trust me, its a good program, you can dowload it free off of their site limewire.com. as for the ipod phone situation you have to weigh what you like more, talking to people, or listening to music. thanks for your answer, i'll try it!

Don't buy one yet because apple is announcing new products on the 9th of January so wait to buy an ipod if you are going to get one. I personally love mine and think they are a great investment

We just bought 2 sons, 2 nephews, and one niece an ipod for Christmas and they are very happy with them. They do all of the downloading of music themselves from limewire, then dragging to their own playlists. (not costing anyone a thing!!!) Their ages range from 9-14, and if they can do it.... an adult should be able to. Overall.... EVERYONE'S happy!!!
