The reason I want to take "fester" my kitten, to the vet is I know the medication they give is strong enough and it only cost $4.00 to get it done that way I have peace of mind there.

Find a wormer that has pyrental pamoate in it, that's what the vet would use. It will take care of round worms and hook worms. It's given by body weight orally. It won't help with tapes, but it's very safe. Don't go cheap with the piperazine unless you're sure the only problem is round worms, but getting rid of round worms is better than nothing.
You will find these in any well stocked pet department or feed store. Don't worry if the brand you find only says dogs, it costs a lot to change a label.

There are many over-the-counter dewormers that can work just as well as the one by the vet's. Or better yet, the next trip to the vets, buy a few more additional deworming medicine to keep at home. The only thing you need to look out for, is wether it is suitable for young kittens. If you're still not confident with the OTC products, what you can do for a temporary solution is to give them the OTC anyway, and then bring them to the vet for a more thorough dewormer. Remember to follow the dosages, which may require you to weigh your kitten accurately.
Usually worm problems are not an emergency. However, sometimes it does occur as well. With a high worm burden, there is a chance for an intestinal obstruction to occur. So, that is what you need to watch out for before your next visit to the vet. Signs of obstruction include decrease in appetite, vomiting, abdominal pain, abdominal distention, and general depression. Other things that can occur with worms is diarrhoea and weight loss. Excessive diarrhoea can cause dehydration, which is dangerous for your kitten. Weight loss occurs over a long period of time, which I'm sure you'll have brought the kitten to the vet before it happens.

There are some dewormer products that you can buy OTC but they usually don't work. All puppies and kittens have worms and need to be dewormed every 3 to 4 weeks until they are 4 months old. Just make an appointment with your vet or ask if they can leave out or send you some dewormer.
Enjoy your new little kitten.

Then deworm him.. he does not need a trip to the vet if that is what is wrong with him. Almost all kittens and puppies have worms when born..
Your kitten can be dewormed... there is a good liquid that works very well and they like the taste too. It is called D-Worm.
GOOD LUCK

Worms would usually have the sign of Fester eating enough but losing weight. If you know how to check, he will almost likely have a fever with the problem of worms. Since you suspect it, getting to the vet A.S.A.P so you can have medication administered to him is the best bet.

Like others have said, just keep an eye on him and call your vet.
Worms can happen to almost any cat/dog, even if they are well treated, as yours seem to be.
Ask the vet about a monthly preventative, after the deworming is done.

No pissy comments, I have had plenty of cats. Depending on how old the kitten is, there are de-wormers available that you can feed the cat, with it's food that should help, if not eliminate the problem. Check at your local pet store, like Pet Smart. I have always used Harts, and that always did the trick. Good Luck.

I would keep an eye on your kitten. I wouldn't know what to do but you could search the internet. I would just watch him/her carefully and call the vet first thing in the morning.
