no, I think it's just a southern pride thing. The south can't rise in a unified country.

The south has suffered ever since the end of the civil war and our government See's to that, the south will never rise to power again, the union left the black to fend for themselves after the war so the liberation was a failure, that's why the blacks or anything closely looking black is treated un American, ref: hurricane Katrina when the wanted to cross the Mississippi river bridge into Jefferson county, the police told them no way will we grant you passage, they were Americans for god sake. The Cajuns now suffer to because of the white man.

This isn't colonial times anymore. War was rampant back then, If the South were to "rise again" the political powers would be held on trial by th U.N. for war crimes.
You can't go starting wars over slavery, Bush had to pull strings over nuclear weapons.
