ignore the people who doubt you, speak up for yourself, exercise, try to maintain a 'nice' appearance, make friends, be more outgoing, and don't let the people who don't matter bring you down. as long as your happy, nothing else should matter.

I'm glad to hear that you are losing weight! That will help. Just know that not every girl is thin. Don't judge yourself on weight. What is going on with your hair? Maybe a nice new cut and color or highlights would bring your self image up. Find something you are good at and show that off. If you can sing, dance, play an instrument then do it loud and proud! You can start taking dance or kick boxing that would help you lose the weight and burn stress. It promotes self love and you will shine! Make up is fun but you need to learn to do it right. So when your mom or friend tells you you're wearing to much listen and adjust. Lip gloss is a girls best friend!! You are young still and growing into yourself. Enjoy it and love you for you!

By finding some friends that are keepers. Men can raise your self esteem and confidence but only for a short time... with them it tends to not be just a raise in self esteem and confidence but more of a rollercoaster ride... a bit like the stockmarket... you can invest your feelings in them and sometimes they go up and sometimes they go down. Find friends because they're going to be around for the long haul and will pick you up when you're not feeling too crash hot about yourself.

realize this...even the most popular girl at your school is asking the same question. Once you come to grips with the fact that all people your age ask the same questions your confidence will rise.
As you grow older this feeling will go away, also, keep this in mind, even though it's hard to believe, in 10 years, maybe even 5, all this stuff you consider important and embarrassing will be just silly stuff you laugh about when talking with old friends...or completely forgotten about. your awkward teenage years are such a small part of what will be your entire life...as my grandma always said...dance like nobody is watching...the only person who opinion that matters in the long run is your own.

Fake it. It sounds ridiculous, but keep in mind that most of the horrible things you imagine about yourself are just you exaggerating things, but if you act insecure you just make them worse. So what you gotta do is pretend to be completely confident (not arrogant). You'll realize how much people like the confident you and eventually, you'll start to truly become confident. It's a mental problem, so you have to use that mind trick to fix it.

What i like to do is go shopping.
If you get some cute clothes, do your hair and makeup
you'll look a lot better and feel better.
People will comment on these changes
and compliments are always a good way
to boost up your self esteem.

find people and friends that support her in what she does, and gives her encouragement. better to find people that build you up, rather than knock you down. also, being able to find something that she is good at will help build her confidence as well.
