I totally agree. People shouldn't be rude and hateful just because they can be. They hide behind their anonymity and say things they would never say to someones face. But it's not out of concern for the other person's feelings, they just couldn't get away with it in person.
I'm not totally innocent. I definitely try to be funny with some of my answers...depends on the question.
Unfortunately, I bet you get a lot of rude answers to this question bcs some people see a vulnerability as an invitation to strike.

Well, i get that kind of stuff on some personal questions too, and I think it's that some people that look at the questions don't take them seriously so they answer sarcastically, which seems mean, but sometimes even I find them a bit amusing.

I'm not trying to be mean, but I am trying to be extremely honest and forthright. Who gives a care? Yes, I realize that there are trolls on here and a lot of idiots and haters, but this is the Internet. It's called ANONYMITY. When you have a pseudonym, another mask, no one knows who you are, and thus you feel more liberated to say what you want with no repercussions. Is it annoying...? Yes, but you've got to realize that the world isn't nice. If anything, the "real world" is just a big facade where most people feel OBLIGATED and PRESSURED to speak in a "courteous manner." But come on... you can't tell me that YOU'VE never thought mean thoughts before while you're speaking "nicely" to other people to say.... make them feel better about themselves on an issue you think is totally trivial. We all do.
By the way, I've seen this specific question on here a lot, and I'm really sick of it. As President Kennedy said one time, "Life is unfair." So... get used to it and retaliate or don't bother coming on here because no matter how YOU feel, everyone else has the freedom to say whatever they want no matter how undesirable it is.

They are mean because the are foul human beings to start with and this situation makes them feel invulnerable because they are more or less unpunishable.
After all, report the scum and they just sign up for a new name and roll on. Perhaps if Yahoo recorded IP numbers and refused new ID's to IP's that abuse their services? Or, in answers, if they let you limit the answerers to people who have answered over, say, 50 questions or maybe people who have over, say, 15 best answers to their credit. That way, the answerer would be risking something he's worked for (or, for the best answer minimum, would be someone who has proven to take answering seriously) and be much less likely to give pointless, mean, vicious, or stupid answers.

I agree. Sometimes I come here because I can't handle something that happened and want someone to be nice and give me a new perspective to feel better, and people respond and say you deserve it...or something worse. I guess some people only feel good if they gloat over other peoples problems.

yes i have noticed that people can be mean on here but i just let it go. i have never cryed or come close to crying but i can understand why someone would sometimes. especially when pregnancy hormones are kicken and ur sensitive as it is. don't let people bother u. they obviously just want to get a ride out of u or hurt ur feelings to make them selves feel better.

I guess people are just mean because they have a boring life. Don't let it get you down. When they write something stupid it just shows that they are really lacking in the brain dept.

it is verry true that people go out of their way to say mean, negitive, and sometimes even rude things in answers, or in real life...most of the time, the reason that person is doing so is to make themsleves feel better about them...sometimes, people go out of their way to be mean and cut people down just to make them feel like they are better, or above them...some people get a sick pleasure in being mean to others, and see no harm in it, because it makes them feel good about themselves...but they are really just insecure about themselves, not really intending on making others feel bad so that person is upset, but so that person can feel the same things as they are feeling...when people downgrade you, it's just because they are insecure about themselves, and are looking for a reaction...that makes them feel stronger, and like they have the power...
i'm not sure if that helped, but i tried!! :)
