I tried finding answers online, but now I'm just more confused.

I have two common goldfish that used to chase each other around with one usually being the agressor. I've had them almost a year. I recently added a small pleco (bottom feeder), about a week ago. Within the past 3 days the two goldfish have started huddling down in the back corner very still. They become active when it's feeding time and then return to the corner. All 3 fish have new teeny-tiny little white spots all over them as of today.

All of the fish came from the same store which is very well kept, with clean tanks and no dead fish floating around. My tank has a filter, the rocks haven't changed since I got the original two fish, there are plastic plants and an air-stone that have been in there all along too.

Should I be concerned about the new goldfish behavior or the white spots? I will keep checking answers in case more details are requested. Thank you!!!

It seems like they have gotten Ich. It was most likely introduced by the new fish. I've had a lot of success using a product called Tank Buddies Fungus Clear by Jungle Labs. It treats pretty much every fish ailment related to bacteria/fungi/ parasites. You can probably find it in any pet store. I bought mine from a Petco. One tablet treats 10 gallons of water. I recently put one in a tank with a fish I rescued from a tank packed with sick fish (they had ich, actually) and he is fine now. I've used it many times in the past and have yet for it not to work. You do not have to raise the water temp or anything, just turn off the filter or take out the carbon part (I don't know what type of filter you have). You leave the tank water alone for 3-5 five days, and if you need to retreat do a 1/4 water change before performing a second round of treatment if your fish still seem sick. I have more info for you on ich in the link below. This is just my opinion on what you could do, I'm sure there are many other solutions but this one has definitely worked for me. I believe however once the disease becomes more advanced your chances go down on successfully healing them. Good luck and I hope this helps!

Also, make sure the water quality is ok (there are test kits for ammonia and nitrite levels). If the levels are high there are chemicals you can use to fix it. Also use a water conditioner if you add tap water to the tank so chlorine is removed. I don't know if you do all that so I'm mentioning it just in case, bad water quality can stress fish and make them sick.

Oh, and about the aggression... I heard that with Barbs you keep odd numbers of them and that somehow reduces aggression. I don't know about common goldfish though.

The white spots would explain the strange behavior, the white spots could be ICH Which is Small white spots on fins/skin, clamped fins. The cure, if this is the case, would be Coppersafe, Quick-Cure and Ich-Ease, not all of them, chose one. I would do some further researching on ich just to make sure all the symptoms match.
All the info was provided by my site, www.aqua-reliable.co.nr. Good luck with the fish.

There are few issues that would make an energetic betta in-energetic or much less energetic. One, incredibly obtrusive he would desire to be ill. if it incredibly is the case, attempt cleansing his tank frequently and introducing a sprint aquarium salt. (it incredibly is giant stuff that would help in making the water much less hospitable for bacteria, viruses and parasites besides as lowers fish rigidity) 2, we are nonetheless style of in iciness and whilst betta's get chilly their interest drops with their urge for foodstuff. Definitlly get some air bypass, if he's unable to floor to gulp air he will drown quickly. they are no longer great with filters regardless of the undeniable fact that, this has a tendency to motivate or worsen fin rot. you desire to heat him and airate him as quickly as available. The longer he spends on the floor the extra likelly he's to get fin rot. it is an opportunistic bacteria that frequently it picked up from resting on the floor for those little adult adult males. As for feeding, attempt dried bloodworms, those odor superb (to them!) and frequently jumpstart even the sickest fishies. all people luvs bloodworms! Plus they do no longer injury donw as quicklly or sink like pellets, you may incredibly do away with any left overs till now they shrink to rubble your water. of direction, clean his tank and water, reliable homestead initiatives can frequently perk them up besides incredibly if some unusual contaminante grew to become into presented. (the two from the faucet or enviromental. ie, lotion, some cleansing soap scum, perfumes and maximum aerosols) suited of success!

your fish have "Ich" a fish disease, get medicine and treat
immediately
do not keep plecos with goldfish! they are predators and will
suck your goldfish's eyes out and suck holes in the sides of your fish
besides, goldfish can do the same job as the pleco
