Many Christians believe we are in the "end times" and that Christ is returning soon. Still it won't be the end of the world,only the end of how this world is now which in general is not in a good state. Still when has the world been in a good state? If you study history you know that wars and disasters have occured since the beginning of organised society. I think the next major war will be based around religion. When you see a major battle being waged in Israel around the place called Meddigo(Armeggedon), start praying!
