I did a trouble shoot and it mentioned proxy server...which I know nothing about. Think waayyyyy tech challenged!

Please help.

If it says something about proxy server then you have to check the settings.

If you are using internet explorer(IE) then, open IE-> Tools tab->internet options-> connections tab. Click on LAN settings-> if you any check beside proxy server remove it & click OK.
Also, if you have dial up then in Connections tab-> under Dail up and virtual private network settings, you will find your ISP dialer. Select it and then click Settings then remove the proxy server.

Generally, no internet service provider(ISP) requires a proxy server. If you have the proxy server checked, then maybe you have some 3rd party software that is using proxy server.

If this doesnt help then un-install & re-install the IM's.

dont use ip proxy server software check ur settings on ur IM (aim, yahoo, etc

I would go into my control panel, add-remove programs, delete the programs listed and go back online and re-install them. Your screen names etc. should pull back up after signing back in. good luck
