ONE of many things that I have found to be Ironic is when I got a double violation for saying something about Rory Emarald and then telling everyone about the 2 for 1 special that Yahoo gave me. Considering that Rory is all about practical jokes, noone believed me.
That's Ironic!
There is also the fact that I left a guy because there was no physical contact and it was long distance only to end up on here talking to guys that I can get no physical contact with and are long distance.
That's Ironic!

This is an often misused word. People always think that is just something that was unexpected or unwanted. This is not the case.
Here's a true definition of irony:
A person suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder and cannot bear to touch anything, for fear of getting dirty or getting germs off objects. So as a result, they cannot clean anything in their surroundings. You have to touch things to clean them. Therefore, their home gets really dirty and unsanitary. Ironically, they have a messy, dirty home because they were trying to stay so clean.

Its ironic, for example when you work really hard to in the hope of achieving something and in the end you find out that all your hard work was in vain, and if you had just tried the easier way, you could have actually gotten what you wanted. Thats like pure irony.
Hope this helps. =)

I always hear ironic means an unexpected twist in a story.
but i would have to say my interpretation is when your priest is one of the best you've had in years, and you see him walk into a restaurant and cuss up a storm. =P
