He cancels and moves meetings with me on a moment's whim with no respect for my time and planning, he answers his phones (cell and work) during our meetings and talks for several minutes, often about personal stuff to friends and family, my being 5 minutes late is a grave crime but it's OK for him to keep me 15 minutes late or longer, he wanders in and out of my office all day and randomly starts talking to me while I'm working about whatever, and he puts his partial denture in and out of his mouth (like all the way, not just slipping it around inside but puts it out on the desk, then back in, then out...) during meetings.

Does anyone else have it bad like this?

Just to let you all know, this is my dad talking:

I had a fantastic boss who resigned because the new president was a jerk. The new guy started about 15 months ago. He ignored me almost entirely from the start. He would ask everyone in the department but me athye same question. I started counting the number of words we exchanged in a week and the record for low was four words. He would threaten to fire everyone he heard about but never followed through. He was abusive to my coworkers and debased their efforts. At Christmas time last year there were only a few of us left. He went out for lunch but didn't ask the two ladies that were there with me if they wanted anything. By this time the food service had all shut down. By one p.m. he left for a meeting but didn't tell us that we could go. We could see the parking lot from our office and there was no one there. Almost all of the 1,000 employees had left but it wasn't until five minutes before our normal quitting time that he said we could leave.

Eventually, he changed my job with no notice. Despite asking for and being assured to the contrary, he never gave me a new job description or list of duties. Contrary to policy, he never put out an announcement advising of the change so I got a lot of calls from people asking me for help but I had to tell them I didn't do the job anymore.

One of his most annoying habits was to check his blackberry whenever it went off. Even in the midddle of someone's presentation he would check and sometimes announce to all present that there were muffins on sale.

For months he ignored me and never gave me any feedback. On a bet one day I left the office for 3 hours and he never once asked me what I was doing or where I was.

The most bizarre thing he did was on a Monday. He spent the night at his cottage out of town and forgot his keys. When he came in he asked the department secretary to let him in his office. She told him that she couldn't because she lent her keys to one of the staff who started late. She then told him that I had the only key that opened all the offices. So he walked in and went past my office (and actually said hello) and the went to the end of the office to ask my coworker if she could open the office. She told him that I had the only key that opened all the offices and he insisted that she try. At that point I just got up and let him in. No thanks - nothing.

One of my coworkers went to his boss and told her about the way he treated everybody. His bosse's response - it's a personality conflict and if she can't get along with him she owuld have to quit.

So, you may wonder - why didn't I report this guy to Human Resources? He is the Director of Human Resources.

I had a boss who use to get words wrong all the time like Archie Bunker on "All in the Family". He would come up with one a week that would have me and my friends rolling on the floor with laughter! Instead of ludicrous, he said "lunacrisp".

He also had oily hair and really, really bad dandruff. The first time I noticed it was when I was in the back seat of the president's car going to a meeting. It was like somebody sprinkled half a box of potato flakes on his head and he combed them in. We had a kitchen at the facility and he use to cook for everyone at least once a week. It was nice to get a free meal, but with hidden extras, I was always skeptical.

I once went to the restroom in the main office and the lighting was dim. I looked at the toilet seat and thought they replaced it with a textured one. I thought it was strange and grabbed some TP and wiped the seat - it was his dandruff! Needless to say, I didn't use that toilet ever again.

He used to tell me we were going on customer visits and to meet him in the lobby at a certain time. I would go 10 to 15 minutes early to be ready and would find out he already left. He did this 15 times in the course of being employed there.

He use to pick his nose and eat the findings, trying to be sneaky.

He couldn't manage his way out of a paper bag! Terrible human being.

Sounds pretty bad. The part I can relate to is disrespect. Don't know how these kind of people ever get a job!
