Remember the mnemonic, "SOH-CAH-TOA"

For a right triangle (which I assume this must be because the sides are in the ratio of 3-4-5, a classic pythagorean triplet):
Sin(Θ) = Opposite / Hypotenuse
Cos(Θ) = Adjacent / Hypotenuse
Tan(Θ) = Opposite / Adjacent

So for sin(J) you need the opposite (KL = 18) over the hypotenuse (JK = 30)

18/30 = 3/5

(Note: the side opposite J will obviously not include J, so it is KL. And the hypotenuse is the longest side, so it must be JK).

18, 24, and 30 are a Pythagorean triple. Hopefully you're referring to a right triangle.

JK = hyp = 30
KL = opp = 18
JL = adj = 24

since

sin(J) = opp/hyp, then
sin(J) = (KL)/(JK)
sin(J) = (18/30)
sin(J) = 3/5
