There is no way to categorize what a woman's role in society is, on the whole. My brother's wife has an advanced degree. She is a Pharmacist. She has not worked more than a year or two in her life. My brother, an Orthodontists provides here with a home in the most fashionable district, new cars, vacations. Is she victimized? Some may say no. I think she is because she has never in her life been "herself for herself." But she has it a lot better than a woman working in a factory and living in a mobile home. One of the reasons that woman are not payed as much as men is that there are so many women like my brother's wife who will just at some point "opt out" of the system for home and family. Think of the investment in education and training that just evaporates.

I personally don't feel victimized by society...I've always had opportunities and I've never had to struggle for anything.
But women in general? YES. Whether or not it's as bad as other societies doesn't matter. Even the smallest degree of sexism is still sexism.

I believe they are victimized, but willingly. Women these days have been coerced and connived into believing that what they really want is to sell themselves, to display every inch of skin in order to please a man. Girls from a very young age are developing eating disorders to stay thin. Women of all ages are taught that they need to be skinny and beautiful in order to get a man, and that they will not be complete without a man.
Yes, even in our great society of equality and feminism, women are victimized. They just refuse to acknowledge it, because they don't notice it.

SOme are, but there's laws against most of it. They are victims mostly of messed up body image that forces them to lose more weight than is healthy and wear clothes that are too revealing to allow for a healthy body image, and may cause hypothermia and chapped everything in the winter.
Not black women. They still know how to keep a little meat on the bones.

By whom? I don't feel victimized at all. However, I come from the ivory tower of an Ivy League university and a privileged upper class upbringing, so I might not have the best perspective...

It is much easier if they allow it. People can't take your self-respect.
But if you learn to think of yourself AS a victim, that's 90% of a lost battle.
Or if women weren't allowed to vote, (or any other perceptible victimization) ... I guess there are many ways to "vote" without filling out a ballot. And there are many more ways to bear fruit in citizenship than "voting".
Yes they are; and so are men by women.

most women lead happy lives, and are safer then you may think.
Some women even take advantage of being "Victimized" and sue people for sexual Harassment.
