If you have dirty hands which you use to turn the tap on and then wash with soap, don't they get dirty again when you turn the tap off?

What you say is true. Try to rinse/wash the tap whilst washing your hands. Same with public toilets, you wash your hands and then push or pull the handle of the exit door when people haven't washed their hands at all.

No, cos I wash the tap with the soap after washing my hands!!! So the tap stays clean, & my hands stay clean!!! The public toilet is another matter, cos you can never completely safeguard yourself from germs in there.

Use a napkin to turn the tap off then to open the restroom door then you dispose of the napkin outside of the restroom when done .

THATS WHY WE SHOULD ALL HAVE TAPS LIKE IN THE HOSPITAL WHERE THEY TURN THE TAP ON WITH THERE ELBOW WASH THERE HAND AND THE TURN IF OFF WITH THERE ELBOW AGAIN ALSO IT TAKES ABOUT 5 MINS TO WASH YOUR HANDS PROPERLY.

well Rowdy... id have to say that i agree with everyone here....use a papertowel. especially what niko said.... everything gets dirty after you clean it.
another strange observation.... what are the dirtiest parts in your house. most people assume that its the bathroom. got news for ya... thats one of cleanest. know why.... cause everyone thinks it. ya see.... since everyone thinks like that.... everyone cleans it more often. but have you EVER cleaned the lamp switches.... what about remotes.... the trashcan.... or the door knobs. probably not.
seriously.... run for your life..... GERMS are EVERYWHERE. problem... those suckers are fast and sooner or later their gonna GET you. so i think its about time you get over. go lick the door knob.... dare ya. hahahahaha.

Yes there are germs on the handle to turn it off, you use a paper towel to turn it off.
