Periods last 3-5 days depending on stress, and activity. It's also your first time. Mark a calendar on each month that you have your period and put down if it's heavy or light day by day.

If you had your period today which is January 4, then I would say
it will happen perhaps a week or little less before February 4.
Also , talk to your mom or sister if you have more questions.

P.S. also I would wear looser clothing not jeans or tights when you have your period because your stomach and breasts will get bloated, so wear comfortable cotton pants, or loose tops. Hope this helps you.

Always have at least 3 pads and an extra pair of clean underwear in your purse or backpack, wipes, and body spray, and baby powder (to put on the pad so it won't smell so bad).

Good luck.

You might also want to wear a pad in the back of your underwear (butt part) at night so you don't stain the sheets.

Dont be embarrassed to talk to your mother or a close friend about it. What you are experiencing with your body is quite normal. Your period is likely to stay with you for 5-10 days. For most people they only last for 7 days. It can very from very light (almost brown color) to very heavy (deep red color). Expect to have it around the same time every month until menopause. You are young, so I'd recommend using sanitary pads and liners until you are comfortable to use tampons. What you need to do is keep a few pads and panty liners in your book bag/purse/locker so that you always have a few with you at all times (for emergancy purposes). Make sure you change the pad every few hours if you notice it's messy. If you are in sports, your period may not come every month, so do not freak out if you dont get it for a few months (unless you are sexually active). For now, plan on carrying atleast 5 pads to school with you. And put some in away in your locker for next month. You never know when it will start. It's better to be prepared for it to come, then being at school and not having anything with you! Good luck to you and welcome to woman hood!

You need to talk to your mom about this. She will explain everything to you. Don't freak out, this is natural. Every female body is different so usually this will last for about 3-4 days, depending on the person. The flow is usually not heavy on your first day then the 2 or 3rd day is the heaviest then it was die down. The next time you should get it is a month for the day you first started your period but not everyone is on time, it may be acouple of days off. You will begin to know your body and when your about to get it. This will take some time to know and figure your body out. But remember since you've started your period that mean you are now about to have kids, if your sexually active. Do talk to your mom she will tell you a lot more and if you have any question she is the one to ask, don't be shy, we all go through this stage in our lives.

Don’t worry hunny, as you know it’s natural. It can be heavy or light and can also, for some give you some stomach cramping, fro this I suggest Tylenol or Midol.

Periods reoccur every month. Make sure you mark your stating date on the calendar, so that you know when it will start again next month (this date may very but usually stays within a week of itself).

This being your first period could last any number of days between 3 to a week and a half. Most periods last about a week.

I suggest using long, winged pads, or Pearl Tampons (ask your mother or teacher about this if you are not sure how to).

Good Luck and remember if there any problems you can call a doctor confidentially for knowledge, contact me, a friends, teacher or family member. This natural and happens to all of us.

Congrats on becoming a women. You'll be experiencing this for the next 25 years or so. Your period will start out heavy (red or brown in color) and then taper off to light spotting. It's totally normal. It should last about 4-7 days.

You did the right thing by putting on a pad (which should be changed regularly). Please confide in an adult (like your mom or other female relative, or a friend's mom), if possible. It's good to have that kind of support.

You poor girl. Can you not ask your mother, aunt or sister? I can't imagine not having a female to confide in.
Your period will come about every 28 days. It usually lasts three to five days. You will feel moody, uncomfortable, might cry over nothing or snap at friends. You might have cramps, and lying on the floor with your legs on a couch or bed (above youe head) will help. Lay off caffeine during this time, too. Try Midol or Pamprin for cramps and headaches.
Change your pad regularly and if you can, get those pads that have a little moist towelette with them. Using a feminine deodorant or wipes helps keep you feeling clean.
This is nothing to worry about, but if you have a female friend/ teacher/relative, it might be good to talk to them. You do know that now you are menstruating (having a period) you could get pregnant if you had sex. At 14, I hope you wait a few years before having sex anyway. There's no reason to rush, and you're too young to get a disease or get pregnant!!
Good luck, sweetie. I hope I helped. It wouldn't hurt to see a doctor for a checkup.

Hey, Im around your age so maybe I can help. I know it can be super embarresing to tell your mom or dad, but that would probably be the best thing to do. If you caint do that then try taking a pad from your moms bathroom. If this isnt possible then try to improvise with toilet paper for now, tomorow when you go to school ask a friend if you can borrow a pad. Stick to pads for now b/c tampons can be complicated when you are first starting out. I advise you to tell your mom b/c I mean she knows you were going to start eventually and it wont be near as embarresing as you think it will be. I PROMISE!! She will help you...seriously. Dont worry about it everything will be okay!!

First of all, don't freak out. It is completely normal and natural (even though it may not feel like it). Find a older female friend or relative to talk too. They should be able to help.

If this is your first period, it may not last all that long or it might. It all depends on your body's schedule.

Usual a cycle repeats every 28 days. But then again, it all depends on your body. You might not have another period for six months.

Check out the link, I have attached. It is from a kids health link I have kept. I have daughter who is almost twelve and I am going to have to prepare her for her first period.

Relax! Stay positive!

You might wanna bring a purse or something to school to keep about three pads a day in. Your period will last between 3-7 days depending on your body. When it stops all the way it will come back again in 28 days. Also you should keep up with it on your calender so you can talk to your Doctor about it.
