I think I remember him wrestling in WCW waay back before coming to the WWF. Under a different name, much younger with short hair, in a tag team called the "twin towers" or something similar? Does that sound right to anyone else?

Yes he did wretle in WCW. While there, he was known as "Mean" Mark Callous and wrestled as part of the Skyscrapers tag team along with "Dangerous" Dan Spivey and later as a singles wrestler. When WCW refused to give him anew contract he came to WWF.

Sting would not like WWE's working schedule anyway. Sting is extremely privileged to be in the position he's in as he's way more theatrical a character than most other full-time wrestlers. If they introduced Sting into WWE, he probably wouldn't have to wrestle for months after his first appearance. He could cut the lights, show up, take a few people out with bat shots, whisper something to someone, cut the lights and vanish again. Not that strenuous, not that draining on his body, he'd have plenty of time to train and work out before actually competing, etc. Granted, they've basically done this with the guys like Undertaker, as he's actually competed very little and been figureheads and position holders more. However, with Sting, he can rely primarily on drama, theatrics, storytelling, and how he fits into various rivalries and such. Besides which, that would gel with his desire to not wrestle a full-time schedule. I think that's where WWE is missing something, if they're truly waiting for him to be okay with a full-time schedule. Sting does NOT have to wrestle to make a major impact. Even in companies he's known for being part of, when he shows up and says NOTHING, he makes a major impact.

Undertaker wrestled in WCW under the name of Mean Mark Callus and he also wrestled as a tag team with Sid Vicious under the name of The Sky Scrapers.

Yes, Mark Calloway wrestled in WCW. He was Mean Mark. He wasn't that good. When he signed with Titan Sports (then parent company of WWF), it was for minimum payment, but with Percy Pringle (Paul Bearer), they started getting more $$.

Mark was scheduled to face Hugan, not because of Mark's ability, but because of his size. Vince wanted Hulk Hogan to beat Death himself and his Grim Reaper (an Undertaker) was the perfect way to do it. After scheduling that match, Flair jumped from WCW to WWF and Vince changed his mind so Flair could get the belt.
