Is a file sharing site like GigaTribe safe? What are the risks, If Any? I want to be able to share files with my Brother who is on the East Coast But I am worried about people being able to get my personal information from my computer.

i have been file sharing for about 3.5 years, never had that problem. there should not be any extra info that comes with a shared file, if your worried about i.p addresses or something

I dont know about sharing to a specific person (peer to peer( but anonymously I use emule which works good, I havent read about any fuzz and it has never shut down unlike other programs I used in the past. winmx or napster for example... kazaa

so wat ur saying is u want to save ur bro money on illegal file sharing without anyone stealing ur info or sharing same files cause that wud be wrong of them? dude if ur gonna share files wuth ur brother ur gonna run risks. hackers exist to screw you. anything ur gonna share is only interesting to someone who wants to hack it. share files with ur bro and with anyone who wants to take em.
ps maybe i misunderstand you. maybe they are just friendly non copyrighted files if thats the case screw wat i think
