In some places yes, but most places no.
Most places have racism for reasons other than skin colour.
There is religion, country of birth (lots of white people from different countries suffer racism. Jews, Lebanese, Moslems, Americans, Canadians, Greeks, Russians etc. )
I've met white skinned people from all of these nationalities and religions who have suffered racial taunts and discrimination at some time.
At the moment I'm trying to find a job and have been knocked back because the job is being specifically targeted at Aborigines (black native Australians) and I'm not of that race! (These jobs are termed 'indigenous positions')
Life's what you make of it.
Be positive and you'll find life becomes easier.
Wherever you go there will be people who will treat you like **** but just remind yourself that they are the exception rather than the rule! (How many people do you walk past or deal with each day who DON"T discriminate against you.)
If this is not true for you then either you are paranoid or you live in a neighbourhood peopled by wankers and you should move. I did.
And lastly a point to remember is that, if you are truthful with yourself, you will admit that you have some racist attitudes too but you will learn how to stop them having a negative effect on others.

Maybe, but don't let that slow you down. This is probably the best time in our nations history for a minority person to be whatever they want to be. All you really have to do is pick something that you're good at, or really love to do, and throw yourself into it heart and soul. This is still the land of opportunity, perceived by most of the rest of the world as the "promised land". If you were born white, maybe you wouldn't have to try quite so hard, but you have to play the cards you were dealt. You can do it. The really neat thing about it is that we live in a time when most of the rest of us know you can do it, and we're willing to give you a chance to show what you're made of. Go for it!!

all else being equal, that's quite possible. but would everything else be equal? there are a lot of other things to consider, your family, the money in your bank account, the country you were born in... life would probably not be any easier if you were born a white man in Siberia!

No. Not necessarily. People of all races and origins have tough lives, seemingly easy lives, prosperous lives, healthy lives. And people of all backgrounds also have just the opposite.
I would say being born rich or being born poor is a greater determinant of how 'easy' a life could be. Now, you might say that certain races are more likely to have more money. That might be true, but again, not necessarily.

Well I'm going to earn 2 points I don't deserve because I can't answer that for you. Where do you live? Are there racist attitudes where you are? Have you been a victim of prejudice and racism? What are your experiences with it? I don't deny Racism is quite alive and well. I also don't deny in some cases it's used as an excuse not to work hard or go to school because "they" are out to put you down anyway. I know nothing about you so I won't judge which it is for YOU.-

No it wouldn't.... But it would be easier if you got off your dumbass & made it better for yourself instead of looking for other people & races to blame for your probloms.Lifes hard sometimes & we all have probloms at some point... Grow up, Be a man, Quit crying like a little girl & make life better for yourself.

I can't say it would be easier, life is hard. However, you would have more opportunity in this country if you were born white. Come on people, lets be real!

Probably not. Your family would have had a hard time explaining to the neighbors. Then family services would have took you and your parents would have been charged with kidnapping and you would have spent all your life in different homes while the gov. hunted for your correct family. I believe your best as you are. Just make the most out of it.

I think easy or hard has more to do with your parent's class and proficiency at parenting than color. Middle class...WAY easier than working class regardless of color. Working class a bit easier than welfare class. Multi millionaire vs anything...gimme a break.
That said, two working class kids...the white one is probably going to have an easier time....unless they both want a scholarship then I give the edge to the black kid.
