Baghdad is the capital of Iraq and not Vietnam. There is a great difference between Iraq and Vietnam. The insurgents in Iraq fight for their religion while the Vietcongs fought for communism.

The keep comparing them as a testement to Americas folly.
in both cases your country committed troops based on lies, both situations came about due to Americas corupting foreign policies, both wars lead to sensless waste of life , including massive civilian casualties.
Bith situations were to win hearts and minds, both failed to do so and both wars saw Americas troops immobilised and kept in a no win position by peasant armies.
The only thing i hope is different is that the failure for a victory is not blamed on the returning troops by the gutless politicians like they did after Vietnam.

are you saying there is no similarity?
wars waged in basically third world countries... by a vastly superior military... where a native force (for the most part in both) tries to fight it off using terrorism tactics? and both having little support stateside?
that's what a comparison is... two things that are similar... not the same... people don't compare things that are the same...because they are the same...
it's really pretty simple... I don't get where you're confused...
