I have seen many new bathrooms are equiped with the basin with seperate taps for hot and cold water and have no mixer. Why they don't use mixer and how they use these taps because one gives very cold water and other gives very hot water?

It's pretty stupid I know.....

Plug the sink and fill it with the temp water you require.....

Just make sure you wash the sink first though!

If you have two taps you can fill the basin quicker and if you have the hot and cold tap on at the same time, it mixes the water for you to give a pleasant temperature.

Yes and it will work even more to your liking if you use Cold Water HE branded washing detergent. My home is also new (1 year old) and when we were shopping we did not see or were informed that there is a cold water machine available. Our machine steams the clothes or washes clothes. Yes, they were expensive. Don't waste your time using hot water from the tap. USA washing machines do not heat up the water as do dish washing machines do. The clothes washing machines rely on hot/cold water from your supply lines in the back of your washer. There are foreign washers that have just cold water attachment but I know of not one made in the USA having that advantage. Besides the cold water would take a while to trickle in the machine and who wants that? Our builder did not forget the Hot/Cold water lines to our washing machine but he did forget to add 3 exterior lines that he immediatedly resolved.

I grew up with separate taps like that. You stick a plug in the sink and run a little bit of each until the water temperature is what you want.

Are you Eastern European? Hot and cold taps are as old as plumbing itself, and are just as efficient as mixer taps.
